Abstract
Porosity is a crucial property for an injection grout, influencing a number of other properties. Reduced interconnected porosity of the set grout compared to the original materials may affect capillary continuity inhibiting the movement of moisture, potentially resulting in the crystallisation of contaminants such as soluble salts within the original materials/the set grout/at the interface. Porosity of injection grouts with reduced water content (prepared with water- ethanol/with an air-entraining water-reducing agent, i.e. albumin) was assessed, as well as related properties such as water vapour permeability, capillary water absorption and mechanical strength. The influence of the water-reducing components on such properties was evaluated.
